Kunihide Kaneko Named President of Hitachi Home Electronics (America)

TARRYTOWN, N.Y.

Hitachi America, Ltd. today announced that Kunihide Kaneko has been named president of its subsidiary Hitachi Home Electronics (America), Inc., in Norcross, Georgia. Mr. Kaneko succeeds Mr. Tom Itoh, who recently returned to Japan.

In making the announcement, Tsuneo Tanaka, president of Hitachi America, Ltd. said, "Mr. Kaneko brings a broad industry perspective to Hitachi Home Electronics by virtue of his experience in many areas of Hitachi's technology and industrial businesses at a time when our consumer business is focused on the digital era."

"I look forward to playing an important role in growing new businesses in the consumer arena for Hitachi in North America," said Mr. Kunihide Kaneko. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank my predecessor for establishing a solid base from which to expand."

Mr. Kaneko joined Hitachi, Ltd. in 1967. His first assignment with the company was working in the International Sales Department of Hitachi, Ltd. exporting railway equipment. Most recently he was general manager of the International Business Planning & Development Group. Prior to this position, he was general manager of the Electronic Devices International Trade Division of the Electronic Devices Business Group. Mr. Kaneko graduated from Kyushu University in 1967, majoring in economics.
