Community Involvement and Development

In order to grow sustainably and improve social value, Hitachi must meet a range of social expectations. As well as creating the innovation sought by society, we need to establish a working environment where diverse talent can shine, and rigorously implement fair business practices and respect for human rights throughout the value chain. We also aim for greater involvement in and development of the communities related to our businesses.

Furthering STEAM education in the United States

STEAM- (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics)

As technology is being integrated into every occupation and business, STEAM education has become increasingly important. Hitachi believes that encouraging STEAM education from an early age is essential to reduce gender and minority gaps in the field of education and fosters critical thinking and innovation.

Supporting STEAM education initiatives also allows Hitachi employees to share their expertise with the next generation. These activities can cultivate excellent young leaders and inspire children and even adults to build careers in STEAM fields.

Hitachi group companies across the country further STEAM education initiatives by donating their time, money, and resources. You can read in detail about our activities in the spotlights below.
